Sand Sculptures

To fill the void while I am sick, I have found some pictures of some artistic-y things created in previous years. Today I bring you....

SAND SCULPTURES!!

Unsurprisingly, I made a kitty.

Sculpted on Middleton beach with my cousin Gem almost 5 years ago.

A year later, the rest of the family got in on this Middleton sand-sculpting thing and together we created this behemoth, under the artistic direction of yours truly! Having a whole legion of awesome artsy family members makes that a fairly pointless statement, but nevertheless!

The middle of the dragon is solid enough that I could sit on it without it breaking - the original plan was to make a saddle to ride the dragon, but we got worried other people would break her!

Above: Gem (in the blue hat) is pretty much my sand-sculpture sidekick. Isn't much fun without her :)
Isn't the dragon pretty??

Not sure that I appreciate being called a "small group of schoolchildren" since there were at least three adults working hard on the Somnabulant Sand Dragon, but I guess we really are a bunch of kids!

I think this summer I need to revive this family tradition, what do you think Gem?
